COURSE TITLE City & Guilds IVQ Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Hairdressing

Is this course for you? The Level 3 Advanced Diploma provides a learner with further development in specific hairdressing skills, and development of skills appropriate to a person who may also be supervising others.

What do you need to get on the course? You need to have completed City & Guilds Level 2 IVQ Diploma in Hairdressing. 

How long is the course? 250 learning hours

When would you be attending? This course can be taken on a full time or part time basis

When does the course start? From September 2011 and throughout the year

What is the course about? 

Cut hair to achieve a variety of fashion looks and to re-style hair to create a variety of looks.

Perm hair to create a variety of fashion looks to include current and emerging perm looks and effects.

Change hair colour to create a variety of fashion effects and identify and correct hair colour problems.

Contribute to effective productivity within the salon and to contribute to planning, organising and evaluating work.

Implement procedures to maintain the security of cash, goods and premises. Monitor losses and investigate problems. Assess and control risks to health and safety. Implement procedures to deal with threats to security, health and safety.

Plan and design a range of images and to create a range of images.

Set and dress hair using a variety of techniques and to dress long hair to create a variety of looks.

Is work experience a necessary part of the course? Yes - If you are not currently working in a salon, Salon Educators can arrange this for you.

How will you be assessed? By an assignment covering practical skills and the underpinning knowledge

What can this course lead to?Employment within a professional salon environment with the ability to work unsupervised, as a salon manager or educator.
