Charmaine Piche comes from an artistic and creative background - her mother was a dancer in the Japanese Ballet, and her father is the respected sculptor and teacher Roland Piche, who worked with Henry Moore and has had many successful solo shows. She chose hairdressing as a suitable career and trained on the old Youth Training Scheme for three years before moving on to study at Vidal Sassoon. During her fifteen years with the company she travelled extensively doing shows, workshops and seminars and taught for seven years, eventually becoming Head of Department at the Beverly Hills branch.
She started Saco six years ago with Richard Ashforth, in charge of colour. As Creative Director she developed new ideas and grew the business as well as demonstrated at shows in Paris, London and Brazil. Charmaine also collaborated with Richard on the annual collections and DVD series, including the latest, Curve.
Now working as a freelance colourist and educator, Carmine is a regular contributor on MyHairDressers.com and runs colouring workshops and seminars across the UK and within the UAE exclusively for Salon Educators.
